My Education

MY LIFE IN SCHOOL

I am currently in my first year of university at Ontario Tech University located in Oshawa Ontario. At Ontario Tech, I am enrolled in the Technology Management program and working towards earning my Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree. At this time, I am taking courses related both to business and information technology, which I undoubtedly love. As of so far, I have earned decent grades in my first semester in courses such as Management of the Enterprise, Business Analytics, Impact on Society and Technology. These courses help me improve my skills in Excel, Word and Powerpoint. The courses also help me understand the technology and even business world.

However, the transition from high school straight to university was one of the most difficult obstacle that I had overcame. The class schedule, living on my own and the workloads were the things that were the most difficult in the transition. Although, I have struggled during my first semester of university, I have persevered in my second semester and continue to improve along the way.

However, without the success I endured during my grade 12 year, I would not be able to attend Ontario Tech. I attended Castlebrooke Secondary School which was located in Brampton Ontario. During my time at Castlebrooke I earned my OSSD and completed high school successfully. I took courses related to both business and technology. I earned an 82-96 percent average in courses such as Information and Communication Technology, Marketing, Computer Studies, and much more. However, at times I struggled, but managed to preserve and put the time in effort into understanding what I was not doing. In those classes, I have grasped a great knowledge of different skills and abilities such as editing, designing, creating, and evaluating websites and other creative platforms and tools.

As I go into the upper years of university, I plan to get a co op job in the field of Business Technology. This job opportunity will give me the chance to learn more about the skills I need for the career of Information Technology. From there, I plan to search for a stable job in field of Information Technology.
